My beautiful sisters, let me take a moment to celebrate you today. Yes, you. You are a testament to resilience, a beacon of strength, and a vessel of divine wisdom. Your journey, our journey, is one of thriving against all odds. As we navigate this world, we have to remember the power within us, the legacy we carry, and the future we are shaping.

Embracing Our Stories
Each of us has a story, a narrative woven with threads of triumph and tribulation. Our experiences are varied, but our strength is universal. From the Middle Passage to the Civil Rights Movement, and now to the present day, Black women have always been the backbone of our communities. We have faced unspeakable traumas and yet, we rise. We rise because resilience is in our DNA.
Think of our foremothers, who faced unimaginable hardships, but continued to persevere. They were the Harriet Tubmans, the Sojourner Truths, the Fannie Lou Hamers and so on. They faced chains, whips, and the constant threat of erasure, but they never lost sight of their worth, their power, or their humanity. Their spirits live on in us. When you feel like you can’t go on, remember that you carry the strength of generations in your soul.
Healing Through Connection
Sisters, healing is not a solitary journey. We heal through connection, through community, through the embrace of those who understand our pain and celebrate our victories. In a world that often tries to diminish our shine, we must be each other’s light.
Surround yourself with those who lift you up, who see the beauty in your scars and the potential in your dreams. Whether it’s through a sister circle, a church group, or a therapy session with someone who gets it, find your safe space. It’s okay to lean on others. It is acceptable to cry, to laugh, or to just simply be. Your vulnerability is not a weakness. Rather, it is a testament to your humanity.
Reclaiming Our Power
In reclaiming our power, we acknowledge that our experiences do not define us, but rather shape us into the powerful women we are meant to be. Every setback, every heartache, every moment of doubt is a stepping stone on the path to greatness.
We must affirm ourselves daily: “I am worthy. I am powerful. I am resilient.” These affirmations are not just words; they are declarations of our intent to live fully and authentically. They are reminders that no matter what the world throws at us, we have the power to rise above it.

Making History Every Day
Our history is not just the past; it is the present we are creating and the future we are shaping. Black women are making history every day. We are breaking barriers, excelling in our careers, nurturing our families, and impacting our communities.
Remember the name Katherine Johnson, who used her mathematical genius to send astronauts to the moon. Remember Tarana Burke, who sparked a global movement to end sexual violence. Remember every Black woman who stands tall, unapologetically herself, in a world that often tells her to shrink.
You, my sister, are part of this lineage. You are making history through your resilience and through your ability to thrive against all odds. Every time you choose to heal, to grow, to shine, you are making a mark on the world.
Thriving Together

As we continue to thrive, let us do so together. Let us uplift and support one another. Let us recognize that our collective strength is our greatest asset. When one of us wins, we all win. When one of us heals, we all heal. When one of us grows, we all grow. Equally, when one of us hurts, we all hurt.
In the words of Maya Angelou, “We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated.” Together, we are unstoppable. Together, we are making history.
So, my beautiful sisters, keep thriving. Keep shining. Keep making history through your resilience. The world is watching. You, my sister, are destined for greatness.
